Aims and Scope
The Journal of Virology and Vaccine Development (JVVD) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in virology and vaccine research. JVVD provides a dynamic platform for scientists, clinicians, public health professionals, and industry experts to share original research, critical reviews, and novel insights that drive progress in understanding viral pathogens and the development of vaccines.

The journal focuses on fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and translating cutting-edge science into impactful applications that address global health challenges. JVVD publishes high-quality articles in the following core areas:

  • Basic and Molecular Virology: Virus structure, replication, pathogenesis, virus-host interactions, and viral genetics.
  • Emerging and Re-emerging Viruses: Surveillance, epidemiology, evolution, and zoonotic transmission of new and re-emerging viral threats.
  • Vaccine Research and Development: Design, formulation, preclinical and clinical testing of vaccines, vaccine delivery systems, and adjuvant technologies.
  • Immunology and Immune Responses: Mechanisms of antiviral immunity, immune evasion by viruses, and correlates of vaccine-induced protection.
  • Antiviral Therapeutics and Diagnostics: Development of antiviral drugs, resistance mechanisms, diagnostic tools, and point-of-care technologies.
  • Public Health and Policy: Vaccine coverage, implementation strategies, vaccine hesitancy, global immunization programs, and health equity.
  • One Health and Viral Ecology: Cross-species transmission, environmental virology, and the interface of human, animal, and ecosystem health.

JVVD welcomes a wide variety of submissions, including original research articles, systematic reviews, brief reports, case studies, and expert commentaries. The journal encourages contributions from multidisciplinary fields intersecting virology and vaccine science, such as molecular biology, epidemiology, immunology, biotechnology, and public health.

Committed to advancing science and informing policy, JVVD ensures that all accepted articles are freely accessible to maximize global reach and impact. The journal is indexed in major scientific databases to enhance discoverability and support the international research community.
